Top 7 Ways to Get Your Small Business Site Ranking Higher in the Search Engines

OK, so you have your new web site up and running. Your small business site looks great, but you need actual customers to make it worth your time. Sure you can pay for traffic, but that can cost a pile of money. Read on to find out 7 ways to get your site ranking higher in the search engines without having to pay for it.

The number one spot in the search results gets 10 times more clicks than the number 2 spot. The number 2 spot gets 10 times more clicks than number 3 and then it trails off after that. If you are not on the first page at a minimum, your traffic will be very small simply because people have no patience.

Here are 7 ways that you can tweak your site so that it gets a higher ranking:

1. Change the domain name of your site so that it contains that keyword that you are targeting for optimization. There is no reason to include your business name in the domain name unless the business name is famous enough that a customer would be search for it.

2. Chose only one keyword or phrase to optimize the page around. The search engines want to provide targeted content, so you need to give it to them.

3. Make sure that you are using the keyword in the headline of the page and that the keyword also shows up within the first hundred words of the body text.

4. Create articles and content for the site, with links, so that it will be more than just a sales pitch. The engines want to give targeted content to their customers, not just sales pitches.

5. You need links back to your site from other places. Develop your own blog on a different site, talk about your industry and create links back to the site that you are trying to get ranking higher.

6. You need to create fresh, updated content frequently. The engines like new content. They are trying to provide the freshest content to their readers. If they notice that your site is frequently updated, you will get ranked higher than those that don’t.

7. Make sure that you do not use any “black hat” techniques that the search engines would consider cheating. They are trying to make everything on a level playing field and if you try and trick the search engine into moving you up, your site could get banned from the engine completely.

3 Vista Internet Speed Tweaks You Can Use Right Now

Looking to speed up Vista? Want to do it without upgrading or buying a new system? I always hear the same question – How can I make my computer faster? Well fortunately the solution is much easier than you may think. Using these 3 Vista internet speed tweaks, you can make your computer faster very quickly. There is also a program below which can perform these 3 steps and get your computer running faster than ever in just minutes.

Remove all temporary, unused, and redundant programs and files. Most people have gigabytes worth of information that is simply taking up space on their computers. An overloaded hard drive full of pointless data is one of the main causes of a slow computer. You can remove this information yourself or use a program to locate these files and programs for you.

Reduce the amount of programs that launch upon each startup. This is one of the great Vista tweaks that will not only speed up computer starting and power down times, it will also improve overall performance. You may be quite surprised by all the programs that run at startup and don’t even show up on the taskbar. Most of these are not needed. In order to disable these programs you need to alter the registry through MSConfig. If you are unfamiliar with MSConfig I recommend using a program to perform this Vista speed tweak.

Fix all errors and perform an overall registry clean up. As we download or install new programs our registries becomes congested with tons of useless and corrupting information. The registry is the engine that makes the computer go. When broken it requires a tune-up. The easiest way to do this is scan your computer with a Windows Vista registry cleaner.

Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization is basically the act of manipulating the text on your web pages and throughout your website in a manner so that the search engines favor them and index them more completely in their databases. Search engine optimization is in fact encouraged by the search engines as long as you stay within the parameters set forth by each individual engine.

When you are writing the text for your site, you want to be sure that the content presented on the page is relevant to that page, or the web page will ultimately be indexed improperly and the page will ultimately be meaningless to those who do happen to find it. The keyword saturation is not set in stone, and in fact if you go from one person to the next asking about keyword density, you are likely to get a number of different answers that vary from one degree to the next.

In our writing, we find that about 2% keyword density is just about right for the job at hand. It is our philosophy that going too much beyond this point may actually be more harmful to your page indexing than it is likely to do any good, because it may be viewed by some of the engines as being “spammy”.

Search engine optimization is not a onetime thing. It is in fact, an ongoing process that is important to the overall health of your website. As search engines tweak their algorithm’s to hone in on results that are more relevant, then so you have to tweak your pages to make them fit in with those results. Part of this is the result of people trying to create websites that manipulate the search results ultimately sending back pages of low quality or in some cases pages that are irrelevant to the search being conducted by the engine user.

That’s where unique website content plays a big part in the overall marketing plan of your website. The more content you have on your site that is relevant to the search being conducted, the higher you will appear in the search rankings. In the grand scheme of things, this will ultimately translate into more sales for your company.

Unique Website Content produces quality articles written with search engine optimization in mind. If you would like more information about search engine optimization and how the articles we create make a difference in search results then stop by and look our site over and get more information on how you can bring your website up in the rankings.

Engine – How Can I Get More Horsepower?

Piston engines work by using fuel, air, and a spark to create an explosion inside the engine block. The bigger the explosion, inside the block, the more power your vehicle will put out. There are several ways to create a bigger explosion and get more power. You could force air into the engine with a Turbocharger or Supercharger. You could freeze or make the incoming air colder with a Nitrous System. The denser the air, the bigger the explosion.

When forcing more air into your engine, you must accommodate with more fuel. Bigger fuel injectors with a higher rate. Complete fuel system with a higher fuel flow. Some racers use Multiple Spark Ignition systems as well. With added pressure to your engine, you will need to upgrade your internal parts to withstand the beating that you will giving them.

Turbochargers are the most common and the most effective way of getting more horsepower. The term “boost” is used in reference to the amount of air pressure the turbo is forcing into the engine. The more boost, the more pressure, and the more power your engine will have. The only issue with Turbos are that they lag. They usually don’t get going or “spool” until 3000 RPM or later. Whereas a Supercharger or a Nitrous system will have no lag. A supercharger is very very similar to that of a turbo. They can put out about 15 Pounds of pressure or “boost”. Whereas a Turbo can put out more than 50 pounds of pressure. Superchargers run of the engine, thus draining the engines power to create more power.

Nitrous systems are the cheapest and quickest way to achieve horsepower. The only problem is that they are the most risky. By risky i mean that they will blow your engine very quickly if you don’t know what you’re doing. There are several types of Nitrous injection systems: dry, wet, and direct. Dry is only Nitrous injection and is the least affective and the cheapest. Wet is Nitrous and additional fuel injection (this method is the most common). And then theres direct port which is inject directly into each intake port on the engine. Nitrous freezes the incoming air thus creating a bigger explosion in the engine. Bigger explosion = more power, and equals more strain on your engine. It causes the engine parts to work harder than their limits. A safe amount of horsepower addition with a Nitrous System would probably be 50-70 for a stock vehicle (4 cylinder).

Engines are controlled/monitored by a computer. The computer has a harness that connects to various sensors, relays, switches, and regulators on the motor. You can tweak these computers to dump more fuel into the engine. You can trick them into thinking that the air coming in is colder, thus making them dump more fuel. There are several so-called “tricks” that can be done to improve your vehicles performance.

Now you know some key factors in achieving more horsepower.

My father and I own a performance shop in Orlando, FL. We have been in business since 2003. We supply all types of performance parts such as turbo, nitrous, suspension, clutches, exhaust, intake, internals, and more!! You can check us out at http://www.ortizspeedshop.com which is our online store.

Website Design Tips To Encourage Search Engine Spiders!

If achieving top 10 search engine placement is the goal for your pages, then getting indexed by search engines is the first step. If search engine spiders are not visiting your site as often as they should, then here are 5 on-page SEO web design and development techniques known for enticing crawlers to visit, index and rank your content. Although there are hundreds of criteria that can affect ranking and relevance, the following 5 tips are known to produce profound results when implemented in unison.

1. If your content is stale?, then freshen it up!

Make changes, search engine spiders like change, but make sure you add value. Try adding a blog and making at least 3-5 posts with relevant content per week. This will unleash the spiders to check out all of the pages they can crawl which can adversely improve your search engine rankings across the board.

2. Do you have multiple pages with similar titles or on page content?

If you have multiple pages that essentially say the same thing, this also can affect dilute your authority for the keywords in question. If you have pages that have more than one topic per page then group them on their own page and name that page with the title of the main keywords. If they have page rank, then you can implement a 301 redirect to a new page that is more in line with the new keyword rich page to get a good running start for those terms.

Another method is, choose one page that has the most content for conversion and relevance and then link from all supporting pages to the new page you want to rank the highest.

3. Are your site maps current?

If search engines can not get to the deep pages in your site, then chances are they are dormant or rarely see the light of spiders.

To aid this, make sure that any subdirectories include XML or ROR site maps. You can also use keyword rich anchor text (links) at the bottom of the pages to connect relevant pages with keyword-rich text.

Aiding crawler and user agents to get to all of the pages in your site can make your entire website more relevant and pull lackluster pages into blockbuster rankings, if you perfect your make over skills. Another option is simply starting fresh with new content (such as a word press blog) or new keyword-rich pages.

4. Do you have an .HTACCESS file to eliminate duplicate content on your own pages?

Using an .HTACCESS file can ensure that your site is not penalizing itself as a result of the http version and www versions of your pages. It is rather easy to implement and is well worth the investment in time. You can also use an .HTACCESS file if you are creating sub folders in your site and wish the index page to be something else other than index.html or whichever extension your site uses.

5. Is your site over optimized?

Sometimes a simple blog post is enough to hit and maintain a top 10 ranking, on the other hand if you prepare an elaborate plan to build 200 links to a new page, cross link it with other pertinent parts of your site, publish the page through 4 social book mark sites that will stream your content and constantly tweak the page in question, you may in fact be going too far.

Each industry is unique, the search engine optimization community for example is fierce with the more competitive terms, here today gone tomorrow is nothing new in SEO, as rising to the top is one thing, but staying there with tactical SEO defense is another.

The point being, each industry has a unique barrier to entry, some require links from authority sites to crack the top 10, others require aged links or older posts before the search engine gives it the OK to land in the top 10, but without looking at each industry in detail it is better not to make random assumptions.

One method is, take a look at the top 5 sites for a search on your favorite search engine, if the results are from sites that appear to have diverse results from newer sites (check the cache before clicking) you may in fact be able to determine just how long that page has been at the top of the food chain. If you see mostly fresh blogs and posts at the top, chances are you could do the same with your pages based on the top 5 sites using a similar keyword density or method.

Make sure you do not abuse design or structure elements like an excessive amount of bold keywords, more than 2-4 keywords in the h1, h2, h3 tags, long / diffused or stuffed titles or lackluster descriptions. Less is more as search engine algorithms have evolved, tricking them with simple on page inflation techniques only pushes you further away from the top 10 once they do the math on your keyword density and proximity.

More and more pages are rising to the top 10 with 1-3% keyword density (keywords used 1-3 times per 1000 words, for the total word count of the page), so no need to go overboard. It is more about “phrase-rank” and the theme of your website as a whole that can exemplify relevance and catapult your pages to the lime light.

If your pages are themed (with no more than 3 targeted key phrases) search engine spiders can analyze and extract the subject matter to assess the content. They even know if it’s grammatically correct or if it’s P.H.D. or elementary in composition. So, sometimes it is not necessarily one thing or another specifically, but rather a combination of elements that can result in your pages not engaging their true potential. By following the guidelines and synchronizing your on-page and off-page factors (content, coding, site architecture / links, social bookmarks, promotion) then, over time you can establish website authority and garner pages that rank higher in search engines.

Remove the obstructing element in question and sky is the limit, but first you have to have a good idea of where to start. This is a quick top 5 SEO Checklist, but in reality there are over 200 of such criteria that determine ranking, relevance and organic search engine positioning.

Electrolysis Plans For HHO Output – Maximize Your HHO

Customizable Electrolysis Plans

Maximize your fuel cell with customizable plans. You can make a fuel cell specifically engineered for your engine. When you build your own, you can outperform commercial cells, and control your output. Customizable electrolysis plans will greatly increase your benefits.

Taking Control

Knowing your exact engines needs and filling in the gaps is where you’ll see the most gains. Using complimentary technology to your electrolysis plans will allow for this. You can tweak your engine and it’s performance to optimize gains. Getting control of your fuel ratio and supplementing the right amount of HHO is the key to MPG gains. Using a ScanGauge to know what your engine needs will take a lot of the guesswork out of tweaking, not to mention you’ll see your gains at the flip of a switch. Controlling your sensors to control your fuel ratio is where the money is at. You can control your sensors to the millivolt with a good EFIE, allowing you to fine tune your fuel ratio, and maximize performance for your specific engine. Every engine is different and they all need to be tweaked to find the max results. The ScanGuage and an EFIE will shave days off of finding the sweet spot. Don’t get me wrong, you will see benefits without having to do this, but you can go from single digit MPG gains to double digit MPG gains if you utilize complimentary technology.

Making The Most

Gain control of your sensors and fuel ratio on top of your HHO output, and you will maximize your gains. Once you see how far you can lean back your fuel with HHO you’ll be amazed at the gains. HHO is three times more efficient than gasoline, and can be obtained for the price of water. It all starts with a plan.

How to Get High Listing for Your Website in Search Engines

Welcome

Welcome to the world of Internet Marketing. Now you can use the knowledge you gain in this Special Report to market your products and services using the web, and reap rich rewards.

Introduction:

Google has changed our world forever. We no longer ask people for recommendations; we no longer call our friends for long chats. We no longer idle our time at the coffee machine…

We are mostly busy at our Notebooks or PCs, finding something or the other on the Internet, using search engines like Google or Yahoo. There is so much happening in the world, and internet is becoming the key medium to stay in touch with everything – electronic greeting cards, MSN messenger, GMail, Net2Phone, grocery shopping, Amazon, eBay, Internet Radio & TV… you name it, and it is available on the Internet. So why would you or your customers leave home at all.

Small Businesses Need a Jumpstart on the Internet

With all this happening at warp speed, the small business owner has to think of ways to get their product or service in front of eager buyers. And where do you find such eager buyers? After all they may not visit your shop or office. Hint: Find them on the Internet.

Two Ways to Get New Customers

There are only two ways to get customers – either you find them, or they find you.

Push Method – You find your Customers

Competing in a global marketplace, you will have increasingly less time to find customers yourself. And the more you chase customers, the more they run away from you.

Pull Method – Your Customers Find You

A pull method, where the prospects eagerly seeking your products or services find you works the best. Because they seek you – “the expert”, you have a much higher perceived value, and consequently, you have to do much less of selling… (They are already sold when they found the expert in you).

Make it Easier to Find You

If you (meaning your website) is easy to find, more prospects will not have to hunt you down. Today, they may search high and low on the search engines finding your products and services.

If your website is listed high on the search engines (Hint: in the first page or two), you have a high chance of getting their attention. If you are among the remaining 432 million pages, you stand no chance.

Not everyone can be in the top pages of search engine results. But you can, if you follow certain principles, some guidelines, and show persistence and perseverance.

The art of optimizing your web pages, so that Search engine think they are highly relevant to what people are searching for, is called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO in short.

Search Engine Optimization Explained

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is making your each page on your website work like a magnet to attract eager prospects. It starts will identifying those keywords that people are most likely to search your product or service for in search engines.

Keyword Identification

For example, if you sell rare second hand watches on the web, you want those people who search for “second hand Rolex”, or “used Patek Philippe” or “rare branded watches” to come to your website.

Optimizing your Web Page for these Keywords

So you optimize the pages with such keywords. You use these so called “keywords” in your web copy (body or text written on your webpage). There are many ways to get these words on the page.

For example – your page title could be “How to Select a Rare Branded Watch”. Then the various paragraphs on this page could have sub heading like – “Finding the Rare Branded Watch”, “How to identify a Fake Branded Watch”, “Negotiating Price for a Rare Branded Watch”, “Huge Collection of Second Hand Rolex Watches” etc.

Search Engines Find Your Goldmine

You might have noticed that the keyword “rare branded watch” has already appeared multiple times in the title, body, and description. The Search Engines think that you have a great content for the word “rare branded watch”, and move your listing much higher in the search engine results.

If you consistently and correctly do this, you have a much better chance of hitting the top pages for your keywords.

Don’t Over Do it, or you will get banned

This is just one of the techniques. Of course you can’t over do it, or else Google could punish your site and not show it at all if they think you have purposely “stuffed” your keywords in the body of your webpage, and the sentences do not make much sense. So do it carefully, and benefit from this technique, but don’t go overboard.

Other Ways to Get a High Search Engine Listing

SEO requires you to tweak so many aspects of your website – you could continue to do it for the next few months easily. And this is a key point too… continue to make changes to your site regularly. This show that your site is current, up-to-date, and not something that was setup in 1998. Of course, a current site is rewarded with a higher rank than an old site that is never updated.

Some of the other basic SEO Techniques are:

a. Optimizing your Page Title,

b. Using appropriate Meta Tags for Keywords, Description

c. Using Descriptive Headings

d. Having a Site Map on your website

e. Making your Site Rich with Content

f. Making Navigation to inner pages easier

g. Building Inbound Links from other Directories, & Authority Sites

Each of these techniques takes time, and you must do it carefully, correctly, and make sure you keep the site updated for continuous good support from search engines.

More information is given below for each of these SEO techniques. Use it to your advantage.

Optimizing Page Title

A page title is what is displayed in top of your browser’s window. Most websites don’t even have a page title. Others have the company name as the page title. Ideally, each page of your website should have a unique page title. It should be short, yet clearly summarize what the page is all about. Keep it within 60 to 100 characters. The Windows Title bar can’t show any longer than that anyway.

Using appropriate Meta Tags for Keywords, Description

If you have never heard of Meta Tags, do not be alarmed. These Meta tags are not meant for humans. It is more meant for search engines, so that they can assess what the site is all about. To check if your webpage has Meta tags setup, visit any page on your website, and do a View Source from your browser’s menu.

You will notice that just below the < HEAD > & < TITLE > are tags like meta name=”keywords” content=”Branded Watches, Second hand watches” meta name=”description” content=”Branded Watches Unlimited – Second hand branded Watch Store”

Many search engines use these Meta tags to show the description below your website in the search engine listings pages. The biggest Search engine who uses this kind of listing is Yahoo. Even Google uses the keywords to some extent.

Using Descriptive Headings

If you know basic HTML, using Header tags (starting from H1, H2 to H6), for your headings, sub headings gets these keywords a higher weightage in search engine rankings.

You can edit the HTML for your website using editors like Microsoft FrontPage or Dream weaver. Then add a H1 tag to your most important heading line. For sub headings, use H2, and so on.

Having a Site Map on your website

A site map is a virtual map of your website. It shows how the different pages are linked to each other. With this kind of map, it becomes much easier for the search engines to reach all pages of your site, and spider them.

There are many free tools available from the search engines that can help you make a Sitemap. Even Google offers its own Google Sitemap tool.

Making your Site Rich with Content

If you regularly add Product News, Happenings, Company News, Articles of interest, then your site becomes more lively, more interesting, and a place where your prospects may find much of the information they are looking for.

A deep, content rich site is a boon to you, which will help to get higher search engine listings with ease.

Making Navigation to inner pages easier Most sites use a Breadcrumb trail kind of navigation to aid the browser in finding information, and retracting to other branches as and when needed.

A breadcrumb trail looks like this

Home > Books > Marketing Books > Magnetic Marketing

This way, a user can navigate to any level. From “magnetic marketing” back to “Books” or Home in a single click.

Search engines love a site which makes navigation easy. You prove to them that you are thinking about your browsers, your customers, and not only yourself.

Building Inbound Links from other Directories, & Authority Sites

One of the most important aspect that can make or break your journey into the top pages of search engines is Inbound Links.

Inbound links means links to your website, coming from other websites, directories and authority sites. It is no longer about content alone. Today, there are millions of great sites that are rich with content. To compete with them, you can also build great content. But that is not sufficient.

Search engines like Google and Yahoo look at who links to you. If you have great content, an authority site, then a lot of websites, blogs must be linking to that content. If no one links to you, then Google does not give you a higher rank.

Conclusion

Hope you enjoyed learning about Search Engine Optimization, and how you can get your website to get High search engine rankings. We will continue to update you with latest SEO news from time to time.

Do let me know how you feel. We like to hear from you to improve this special report and make it more useful for you. All bouquets and brick-bats are welcome. Your feedback is important to us and helps us in improving this article and other workshops that we hold regularly.

These Aren’t Your Father’s Search Engines

You need to ensure that the search engines index your site, and it is important that as many of the site’s pages as possible are indexed. It’s a bit like a raffle. The more tickets your buy, the greater your chances of winning. Likewise, the more pages of your Web site that are indexed, the greater your odds of coming up when someone searches on a keyword or phrase relevant to your site.

Submitting, by itself, is not enough: You have to work to ensure that your submitted page attains a top ranking. Pressing the submit button and walking away is not an adequate solution in and of itself. SEO is an iterative process and as such, you will submit your Web site, ensure it was accepted, measure your ranking, tweak and revise your page, and then resubmit it. The four steps below may seem intuitive, but you would be amazed at how many companies believe that their first step constitutes their complete SEO program:

1. Make your submission.

2. Receive confirmation of acceptance (add-URL confirmation is displayed).

3. Verify your ranking. The submission results in a ranking on one of your targeted keywords or phrases (not a certainty, but a desired outcome).

4. Monitor your status. You should continue to verify that your Web site remains in the search engine.

Submitting All the Pages That Make Up Your Web Site

Search engines promise that if you supply one page of your Web site, they will spider all of the other pages and index your entire Web site. This is rarely the case, and it will probably be necessary to submit all of the pages that make up your site, one by one, to each of the major search engines. I have found that it sometimes takes quite a long time for a search engine’s spider to return to complete the task of indexing the pages beyond the one specific page (usually the home page) you submit. Sometimes they never complete the indexing of the whole site.

Be sure to read each search engine’s submission guidelines carefully. The search engine submission process is becoming increasingly complicated.
